Dunedin and Queenstown accommodation options are listed below.

Booking and payment is direct with accommodation providers.

We recommend that you book early to avoid disappointment – especially in Queenstown, where limited beds are available.

DUNEDIN

As a smaller city, Dunedin’s accommodation options are centred around smaller motel-style operations.

As such, there will be no designated conference hotel for ASPAC 2010 – all conference activities will be centred on the Otago Museum.

We offer the following information on Dunedin motels. Please be sure to mention to moteliers that you are coming for ASPAC 2010 to ensure you get the best rates.

QUEENSTOWN (jump to Queenstown accommodation)

The Heritage Hotel is situated on a picturesque hillside 20 minutes walk from the centre of Queenstown. Conference activities in Queenstown will be centred around the Heritage Hotel. The Heritage Hotel is therefore the recommended option for Queenstown accommodation. To access the specially negotiated ASPAC 2010 rate, you will need to quote code OMC529.

Those on a tight budget may wish to consider the alternate accommodation, a budget-style ‘backpackers’ accommodation located a short hill walk away.

The ASPAC 2010 twist

The ASPAC 2010 twist draws on several elements to draw together the essence of ASPAC 2010.

· SOUTHERN TREASURE: The twist’s colours and shape evoke pounamu, or New Zealand jade – a special treasure of the South.

· FRIENDSHIP: The twist is drawn from a popular shape for pounamu pendants – the infinity symbol, representing ongoing friendship.

· INTERTWINING: ASPAC 2010 seeks to facilitate sharing of the collective knowledge of the Asia Pacific Science Centre community and experience, drawing on each other for inspiration and ideas.

· GROWTH: Like living plants, ASPAC 2010 delegates will have the opportunity to grow, cross fertilise, and extend out our tendrils to each other.
