TRANSPORT FROM DUNEDIN TO QUEENSTOWN WILL BE PROVIDED.
Queenstown is four hours drive from Dunedin, and has its own airport. You may wish to fly out of Queenstown.
Dunedin and Queenstown are in the South Island of New Zealand.
MAJOR GATEWAYS IN AND OUT
The major gateways to and from Dunedin and Queenstown are Christchurch International Airport and Auckland International Airport. You can also fly directly to Dunedin from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
FLYING TO THE SOUTH
The Dunedin International Airport is located 30 minutes drive South of Dunedin. It is the major gateway to our city.
- Flying from Asia
It’s only about 10 hours by air from South East Asia to New Zealand. Direct flights to New Zealand are available from many Asian international airports, including Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Tokyo. New Zealand flight destinations from these cities may be Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch. From there, a domestic flight to Dunedin or Queenstown is a matter of little more than an hour at most. Airlines offering direct flights from Asia to New Zealand include Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Malaysian Airlines and Thai Airways. - Flying from Australia
Depending on which city you’re flying from, it can take as little as three hours to get here from Australia. Pacific Blue offer some direct flights between Dunedin/Queenstown and Australian cities. Other airlines, including Air New Zealand and Qantas fly to Dunedin and Queenstown via Christchurch or Auckland (connecting flight required).
FROM THE AIRPORT TO DUNEDIN
- Shuttle services operate from outside the airport, generally after each scheduled flight arrival. All shuttles can be pre-booked. Prices vary from $NZD15 to $NZD60 per person one way.
- Taxis also operate from one rank outside the airport’s main doors. Typical taxi fares are $NZD55 - $NZD100 one way.
- Rental car services are available at the airport. It is advisable to pre-book to ensure availability.
