Book for one of two workshops:

Workshop 1: EXHIBITION DEVELOPMENT PROCESSES
Focusing on the tangibles, this workshop session will explore the best ways to get from idea to delivery. Be ready to share your experiences, and discuss what has and hasn’t worked at your organisation. Within this workshop we will explore how we can use sustainable practices and resources in our exhibitons.

Facilitated by Clare Wilson of the Otago Museum, this workshop will include contributions from others on collaboration, ‘green’ exhibitions, quality standards and more. Presenters include Gary Foxton, of SciTech, Carole Hammond, of Museum Victoria, among others.

Workshop 2: EVALUATION
How do we find out what’s working well, what isn’t, and what our visitors are or aren’t enjoying? This workshop will combine discussion, group work and sharing of tangible information. Frameworks and tools for ‘jumpstarting’ Evaluation will be provided – within the context of shared stories and experience. Expect to be actively engaged and involved throughout this highly participative workshop!

Facilitated by Daniel Loy Hui Sang, of Petrosains. Along with workshop participants, Daniel will address questions from ‘whose job is it to evaluate – and what if they don’t know how?’ to ‘are you asking the right questions’? Special areas of making sense of data and evaluating young children’s experiences will also take the spotlight.

The ASPAC 2010 twist draws on several elements to draw together the essence of ASPAC 2010.

SOUTHERN TREASURE: The twist’s colours and shape evoke pounamu, or New Zealand jade – a special treasure of the South.

FRIENDSHIP: The twist is drawn from a popular shape for pounamu pendants – the infinity symbol, representing ongoing friendship.

INTERTWINING: ASPAC 2010 seeks to facilitate sharing of the collective knowledge of the Asia Pacific Science Centre community and experience, drawing on each other for inspiration and ideas.

GROWTH: Like living plants, ASPAC 2010 delegates will have the opportunity to grow, cross fertilise, and extend out our tendrils to each other.
