Language
While the primary language used at ASPAC conferences is English, not all attendees have English as a first language.
As you plan your presentation, please remember to use clear language.
When you deliver your presentation, please remember to speak clearly – and not too fast!
Technical logistics
To make sure that all the technical logistics of the programme run as smoothly as possible, we ask you to do the following:
If you have a PowerPoint presentation that accompanies your talk, please follow these instructions carefully:
- Save your PowerPoint in a Windows (PC) format if at all possible (PowerPoint will be run at ASPAC2010 from PC Windows, not Mac)
- Make your PowerPoint as stable as possible by embedding your fonts (detailed instructions below)
- Save your PowerPoint presentation to a USB (‘stick’) drive
- If you have any videos in your PowerPoint, save them on your USB (‘stick’) drive as well – in the same folder.
- On Sunday 21 March, bring your USB (‘stick’) drive with you when you come to the Museum to register. We will direct you to our conference IT headquarters, where our IT team will copy your PowerPoint presentation over to our system to be ready for your session. If you don’t arrive in time to do this on Sunday, you can do it on Monday morning – but we strongly advise that you do it on Sunday if at all possible to avoid delays.
Special requirements
If you have any special requirements related to your presentation, please let us know in advance. We will do our best to accommodate your requests. Please make any requests before 16 March 2010, to aspac2010@otagomuseum.govt.nz
